Essential Rules

πŸ’§
Soft Water Rules
❌ Ignore cap lines. Designed for hard water, they suggest 2 to 3Γ— what you need.
βš–οΈ More detergent β‰  cleaner clothes. Excess causes residue, odours and stiffness.
🌑️ Lower temps work better β€” soft water cleans effectively at 30Β°C
πŸ“ˆ Increase in 5mL steps only if clothes aren't clean
πŸ“
Measuring Tip
Ignore the cap lines. Designed for hard water. Use a syringe or marked container for accuracy.
🌑️
Temperature by Colour
Category Temp Why
⬜ Whites 60°C Kills germs; 40°C fine for cotton shirts
🟨 Lights/Pastels 40°C Low bleed risk
πŸŸͺ Colours/Brights 30Β°C Prevents fading
⬛ Darks 30Β°C Prevents fade & dye bleed
πŸ”€ Mixed 30Β°C Safe for all
NHS recommends 60Β°C for underwear, towels and household linen to kill germs β€” or 40Β°C with a bleach-based detergent.
πŸ“¦
Loading & Prep
βœ… Fill drum to ~ΒΎ full maximum
βœ… Clothes must be able to tumble freely
πŸ”„ Turn darks inside out to prevent fading
πŸ†• New items bleed more β€” wash separately first
🧺 Mesh bags for delicates, bras, lingerie
🎯 Pre-treat stains before washing
πŸ”’ Close zips & fastenings to prevent snags
🌸
Fabric Softener
⚠️
Use With Caution
In soft water, fabric softener builds up quickly, reduces towel absorbency, and can trap odours. Your machine manual says max 25mL.
🚫 Skip it entirely. Soft water already helps.
Β½ Or use max 25mL (half a cap)
πŸ«— Try ΒΌ cup white vinegar in softener drawer instead
🧢 Never on towels β€” reduces absorbency
🚨
Signs of Too Much Detergent
🧱 Clothes feel stiff or waxy
πŸ’§ Towels repel water instead of absorbing
πŸ‘ƒ Lingering "clean" smell after drying
🦠 Musty washer smell
🫧 Excessive suds during wash
Fix: Cut detergent by 5 to 10mL and reassess after a few washes.

Steam Refresh Tip
Use Steam Refresh (max 2 items) to de-wrinkle and remove light odours β€” no detergent needed! Items will be slightly damp after, just hang to dry.
🧴
Detergent Requirements
Your machine requires low-sudsing / HE detergent (labelled "front loader" or "high efficiency"). Using top-loader detergent causes excess suds and longer cycles.

Machine Care

πŸ”„ Drum Clean Reminder Why?
Your machine shows a reminder after every 100 cycles. Don't ignore it β€” prevents smells and buildup!
πŸ“…
Monthly Drum Clean
1
Empty the drum
No clothes or items inside
2
Select Drum Clean cycle
Runs at 90Β°C automatically
3
Add cleaner to detergent drawer
Machine cleaner tablet, OR half-dose detergent
✨
Regular Habits
πŸšͺ Leave door ajar after every wash to air out
🧽 Wipe door gasket weekly β€” check under rubber folds
πŸ“€ Remove clothes promptly β€” or use Wrinkle Free option
🧴 Clean detergent drawer monthly with warm water
πŸ” Check pump filter every few months (bottom right)
🌑️ Run 40°C+ occasionally if you mostly wash cold
πŸ”§
Pump Filter Clean
1
Open filter cover
Bottom right of machine β€” use coin in slot
2
Drain residual water
Pull out hose, remove plug, drain into dish (~250mL)
3
Remove & clean filter
Turn anti-clockwise, rinse under tap
4
Replace & close
Turn clockwise until handle is vertical
Your water is very soft β€” use less detergent than almost all guides suggest.

Let temperature + correct loading do the work.
Result: Cleaner clothes, fewer smells, longer machine life.

Detergent strengths vary by brand β€” always check the label and adjust as needed.
